5th Sunday Services ... see pew sheet for more information.
Advent Sunday is the 4th Sunday before Christmas, then the next three Sundays lead to Christmas. This is an important time for everyone, especially Christians, as they look forward with joy to celebrate the birth of Jesus. For Christians this season is NOT x-mas, that's a real cop out for the true meaning of the season ... could even be classified as a marketing con.
Next in our Parish year is to celebrate the arrival of the Wise Men ... those who saw a star, who knew the prophesies, believed, and followed.
The first Friday in March is a special day throughout the world. We share with world wide churches praying for a different country each year on what is called "World Day of Prayer ... this was once the "Women's World Day of Prayer", a change in time brought the change of name so ALL people would feel welcome to join the prayer chain.
Samaritan Purse project TBA
Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Day are collectively celebrated as LENT ... a time for Christians everywhere to reflect on their own lives, seeking to understand the death of Jesus - the perfect for the imperfect.
There's Ascention, Pentecost, Trinity Sunday to follow the Lenten Season.
Throughout the year we remember the saints after whom our churches are named: St Andrew, All Saints, St James, St Mary the Virgin.
Then there's those special events that are run throughout the year: September is the Diocesan Synod month. October is packing time for our contribution to the world wide Samaritan Purse project - Operation Christmas Child June to September is ski season. Blessing of the Snow Season services are held at Thredbo and Perisher on June long weekend Saturday. Weekly services are held at Perisher All-Denominational Church 12.00 noon for barbecue, hot drinks and treats, followed by service at 12.30 - 1.00

Safe Ministry and other Courses come up from time to time.
If you are interested in participating in church activities in a leadership role, especially services, PLEASE enrol in a Safe Ministry Course.
Church activities include - working with the elderly and children; preaching and leading services.
Our modern society has deemed it necessary to introduce such courses for the safety of workers and "subjects" - people cannot always be trusted, unfortunately, what we see is not always what 'they' are . . .
God is ALWAYS reliable, and, He protects His children . . . US! PRAISE GOD.
The churches are looking into another course - date, time, location, leaders will be organised and advertised when there are sufficient people interested.
Regular services are held at the Snowy River Aged Care Hostel.
Communion can be taken to those in need in hospital or home.
Please ring any of the church contacts to request services - or call the Church phone 0475 116 486.
Expressions of interest are called for our ministry working with the increasing elderly population. Leadership and care skills; Bible Studies; and, available materials; are all important issues to work towards in keeping our elderly a part of our Christian community within the Snowy Mountains.
